Art Scared at the Downtown San Marcos Square

Young artists can showcase their creativity at Art Scared, a Halloween-themed public art event hosted by the San Marcos Art League on Saturday, October 24, from 8:30 am to noon. Open to elementary, middle school, and high school students, the event invites participants to paint designated downtown windows with colorful fall and Halloween-inspired artwork.
All painting materials are provided at no cost. Participants should check in on the courthouse lawn at the corner of Guadalupe Street and San Antonio Street between 8:30 and 10 am before decorating their assigned windows. A panel of judges will select first-, second-, and third-place winners in each school-age category, with winners contacted at a later date. Every participant will receive recognition, a gift bag, and extra paint supplies and brushes to continue creating art at home.
The finished windows will remain on display for the public to enjoy through early November, bringing seasonal color and creativity to downtown San Marcos.
The San Marcos Art League is located at 117 N. Guadalupe Street, Suite 101, in San Marcos, Texas.
