Day of the Dead Half Marathon at Tanger Outlets

Celebrate life, remembrance, and community at the Day of the Dead Half Marathon, a festive 13.1-mile race in San Marcos. The paved road course begins and ends at Tanger Outlets and welcomes both experienced runners and those taking on their first half marathon.

The race begins Saturday, October 3, at 7 am and continues through noon. Following the race, participants can enjoy music, refreshments, Día de los Muertos decorations, and time to celebrate with fellow runners and the community.

Participants can also take part in the Day of the Dead Half Marathon Costume Contest. Runners are encouraged to wear festive Día de los Muertos-inspired costumes, including calavera-inspired face paint and elaborate looks. A panel of judges will evaluate entries based on creativity, authenticity, and overall impact. The winner will receive the Day of the Dead Best Costume Award and a special prize package before the race begins.

Registration ranges from $15 to $72.

The Day of the Dead Half Marathon takes place at Tanger Outlets, 4015 S. Interstate 35, San Marcos, TX 78666. The race is presented by Bigfoot Races.
