Birders can explore San Marcos-area greenspaces, preserves, and riverside parks during the First Saturday Birding Hikes. Guided by local birder and photographer Stephen Ramirez, each hike offers opportunities to spot a variety of feathered wildlife, from waterfowl and woodpeckers to hawks and songbirds. The location varies each month, cycling through different natural areas.
